Polish
The Polish chicken is one of the most recognizable and whimsical breeds thanks to its iconic large, feathered crest that gives it a charming and almost comical appearance. These eye-catching birds are favorites among families, backyard keepers, and poultry enthusiasts who want a fun, ornamental breed with plenty of personality.
Despite their fancy looks, Polish chickens are gentle, friendly, and curious. They enjoy human interaction and often become flock favorites. Their large crests can limit their vision, making them less aware of predators and giving them a sweet, somewhat quirky demeanor. Because of this, they do best in secure runs or safe free-range environments.
Polish hens lay 120–180 small to medium white eggs per year. While they’re not known for broodiness, they are excellent for keepers looking for a decorative, entertaining, and kid-friendly breed. With a wide range of color varieties, the Polish adds flair and personality to any flock.
